Lives end on stage

As long as the host likes

First, the host opens a tournament and viewers enter with three Pokémon.

Up to ten minutes a round

Then a knockout bracket, every match at level 50 with 10 second turns.

Up to ten minutes

Next, the champion battles the host's own three Pokémon.

One tap

Last, beat the host and they can invite you onto the stage.

The champion also takes ₽5,000 and 500 points. How tournaments work

Wild ones find you

While TapIn is open, a wild Pokémon jumps out every 2 to 5 minutes, on any page. Set one up and throw.

The clock picks who shows up.

Morning, day and night follow your own clock. Teddiursa only comes out in the morning, Murkrow only after dark.

Wear it down first.

At 1 HP a Pokémon is about three times easier to catch than at full health. Do not knock it out.

Then put it to sleep.

Sleep and freeze add 10 to the catch value; paralysis, burn and poison add 5.

Choose the ball, then throw.

A Great Ball is 1.5×, an Ultra Ball 2×. The odds on the left are the real Gold and Silver formula. Read how it works.

Good to know

Is this an official Pokémon game?

No. TapIn Pokémon is an unofficial fan project. Pokémon and all related names and artwork are trademarks and © of Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures.

Do I need a new account?

No. Your TapIn account is your trainer. Sign in with the email address or phone number on it and type the code TapIn sends you.

How often do wild Pokémon appear?

Every 2 to 5 minutes while the app is open and visible, on any page. Switch them off under Wild encounters in the trainer menu.

What happens when I lose?

Lose a wild battle, a legendary battle or a gym challenge and you black out: you drop half your money and your party wakes up healed. PvP and tournaments cost nothing.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes, in the browser. Battles open full screen, or as a sheet from the bottom while you watch a live.

What happened to my Kanto Pokémon?

They are all still yours. The Johto update recalculated their stats with the Gold and Silver formula and gave each one its species' base friendship.
