Partner and wild runners

Your partnerCopy Anchor Link

Your lead Pokémon walks with you through TapIn, as its animated sprite.

• On a computer it follows your cursor, a little behind.
• On a phone it walks along the bottom edge of the screen.
• While you type it sits still and waits.
• During a battle it steps aside.

Change your lead and the new one takes over straight away. Leading the party is also how a Pokémon grows close to you: +1 friendship for every 15 minutes you are online together.

Wild runnersCopy Anchor Link

Every 1 to 3 minutes a wild Pokémon dashes across the bottom of the screen. On a community's pages it comes from that town's wild pool; elsewhere from anywhere. Runners are scenery: they are not encounters and cannot be caught. Real wild battles come separately, every 2 to 5 minutes.
