Weather and time of day
Every town has its own sky.
Weather by gym type
Each community shows weather on its pages, decided by its gym type:
| Gym type | Weather |
|---|---|
| Water | rain |
| Fire | glaring sun |
| Ice | snow |
| Rock, Ground, Steel | sandstorm |
| Ghost, Dark, Psychic | fog |
| any other | clear |
Town weather is scenery. It does not change battles; only Rain Dance, Sunny Day and Sandstorm do. See Weather in battle.
Time of day
A light tint over the whole app follows your device's clock: warm in the morning, clear during the day, dark blue at night. The same clock decides which wild Pokémon appear. See Time of day.
Both effects follow the Animations setting and your system's reduced motion preference.
